The church is coming along, styrofoam cladding of the plywood is now grey "stone".

And the bell tower is going up, made from trunks of coconut palms that we took down to make the plaza.

This is where RAFAEL gets hanged.

  1. If the building is made out of styrofoam, how does it stay up? What happens if a storm comes?

    Is it difficult to build an entire village from scratch trying to maintain the same look of a Philippine village of that time period?

    We know you probably had an advance ground team already on location to assess what needed to be done before shooting, but did you already have some idea of what type of work needed to be done and the time it would take? How often do you improvise things related to settings?
