John Sayles' AMIGO and A Moment in the Sun out at last.

Friday, July 8, 2011

This is it.

This is your moment, like voting for the candidate you really want to win. Go tonight to a theater near you to see AMIGO. Small movies don't stand a chance if YOU don't support them. Don't wait till your whole crowd wants to go. Be the first.
This movie will not be out on DVD for at least two years.
See it now.

  1. I hope this opens in CT...do you know when it might?

Also -- why a 2 year wait for the DVD when most indies are going the VOD/DVD/in theaters route these days...

  3. I just watched Amigo in a movie theater here in Manila earlier today and I must say I was pleased with what I saw. Far better than 2 other recent period films about the Philippines (Baler ang The Great Raid). John was able to capture how it was really like in the barrios over 100 years ago during the early years of the American occupation. And the story, though fiction, could really have happened. I liked the dialogue and the actors you got (both foreign and local) did justice to their respective characters. Congratulations and I hope you win some awards in the international film festivals.

  4. Cannot WAIT to see Amigo. Hope James at Cinestudio in Hartford, CT can arrange to show it. Our little Sayles fan club offered to do extra promotion!

It was great to have the book tour begin in Hartford. Here's my web posting about the event:
